Good evening, we’re from Ukraine. Twenty-three years ago, the company “Vodny Mir” was founded in sunny Odesa. Why is the name in Russian? Because 20 years ago, we were targeting the city’s and region’s population, which was predominantly Russian-speaking. Although, it should be noted, our stance has always been pro-Ukrainian. Time passed; we grew, brought ideas to life, and gained more and more fans of our products. Thoughts began to emerge about Ukrainianizing our name. Unfortunately, the war takes a heavy toll. Yet it also unites us all. So, from now on, we are “Vodnyi Svit.” A world of unwavering quality, taste, and love for our customers! With faith in victory. With confidence in the future. We started 2020 with some very significant changes for our company—namely, we rebranded “Vodny Mir.” Quite often, the “Vodny Mir” trademark logo reminded consumers of a fish, even though it’s actually a big, friendly whale. After thorough marketing research and in-depth focus groups, we decided to update the logo and, at the same time, make it more “friendly” for our consumers. That’s exactly why our whale now has a smile :) In addition to the logo, we’ve also updated the product packaging design and our slogan. The new design is more vibrant, and each package now features an appetizing dish that can be prepared with this product. The new slogan, “The Benefits of the Sea Every Day,” perfectly conveys our core mission—to ensure our consumers can enjoy healthy seafood more often, while being 100% confident in its quality.

In September 2019, we launched the national promotional campaign “Ocean of Dreams.” Over the course of four months, our customers had the opportunity to register codes on the “Vodny Mir” promotional website and receive a variety of exciting gifts. The grand prize—100,000 UAH for a dream ocean cruise—was won by Serhiy from Vinnytsia, who decided to travel to the sunny islands of Greece with his wife.

As early as 2005, demand for “Vodny Mir” brand products had reached such a level that it became necessary to increase production volumes. To that end, in 2005 the company relocated its production to a new plant—AquaFrost LLC.

In June 2004, Aquavit LLC became the first fish processing company in Ukraine to undergo a HACCP food safety system audit conducted by a competent commission from the United States.

Between 2001 and 2004, the plant underwent a complete overhaul, which allowed us to quadruple our initial production capacity.

As early as November 2001, the plant released its first batch of products under the “Vodny Mir” brand. Our company became one of the first in the CIS to begin manufacturing finished products that meet high European quality standards.

In September 2001, Ukraine's first crab stick production plant—Aquavit LLC—was built in Chornomorsk, Odesa Oblast.
